Welcome to the Graduate Studies Online Application Form.

Your online application will commence a file. Your application package will be processed and prepared for academic review after the Assistant Director of Admissions has received the application fee and all supporting documentation: official transcript(s), recommendations, resume, personal statement, TOEFL or IELTS (if required), MTEL test scores (if taken prior to application).

Before you apply, please review the admissions requirements and application deadlines for your desired graduate program.

In addition, please note the following:

  • Either the TOEFL or IELTS test is required for applicants whose native language is not English. For more information, please visit the TOEFL web site (www.toefl.org) or IELTS web site (www.ielts.org). Please have your official score sent to Assumptions College (DI Code:3009), Graduate Studies Office.
  • Application fee: $30 U.S. dollars (non-refundable). Pay online by checking/statement savings account or credit/debit card (a small convenience fee is applied to credit/debit card payments) at https://assumption.afford.com/ and select Graduate School Application Fee. Use student ID#0999999, or mail a $30 check payable to Assumption College and mail to the address listed below.
  • For your convenience, you can submit your resume and personal statement as an attachment (Word or PDF) via email to graduate@assumption.edu or mail them to: Graduate Studies Office, Assumption College, 500 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609-1296.

8. Personal Statement

Applicants to the MBA, Rehabilitation Counseling, School Counseling, or Special Education programs: Prepare a typed personal essay, two to three pages in length, explaining why you would like to pursue a degree (or certificate) in your intended field of study and your qualifications in terms of academic preparation, work experiences, and skills for undertaking such professional study.

Applicants to Counseling Psychology: Prepare a typed personal essay of approximately 600 words that answers each of the following:

  1. Describe the academic preparation and skills that you have that qualifies you for the rigorous training involved in our Master’s Program in Counseling Psychology. Discuss experiential and field-based experiences that you believe prepare you for our counseling program;
  2. Describe what you hope to accomplish academically in this program and your career goals. (Focusing on the actual job you would like to have five years after completing graduate study will bring specificity to your essay.);
  3. Describe the qualities that you see as essential for an effective counselor and then assess yourself in terms of these characteristics.

9. English Language Testing (if applicable)
Applicants whose native language is not English, enter result of Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International Language Testing System (IELTS).
