International Student Process
The following information will walk through the international process of applying and attending Assumption College for our graduate programs. You may apply online here: https://graduate.assumption.edu/graduate-studies-application. If you are accepted into the program, you will than need to submit the following items in order for the College to issue an I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status):
These documents include:
- Completed financial certification form
- A copy of the identification page of your passport
- Completed international student information form
You must pay the $200 deposit and fill out the intent to enroll form before your I-20 process can begin. You may pay your deposit online here. After the I-20 is issued you will need to go to https://fmjfee.com/i901fee to pay the $200 SEVIS fee. You will take the I-20, SEVIS Fee receipt, passport, and original copies of the Financial Certification Form to the local Embassy or Consulate to obtain an F-1 visa.
Prior to arriving at Assumption College you will need to submit your medical documents to student affairs. You will be unable to attend classes until you have satisfied the medical requirements.
After you arrive, you may register for courses. International students must maintain a full course of study. That means you need to take a minimum of 9 credits (3 courses in most cases). Although most of our courses are three credits per course, our MBA Foundations courses are 2 credits. This is important to keep in mind to meet your 9 credit minimum.
